Happy Holidays!!!! I have been neglecting this blog, and in 2017 I hope to make it more of a priority.
Do you include washing instructions with your orders? I just made this one for my business. I used to hand write this on the thank you cards I enclose with each order.
I wanted to give you all a little gift for the holidays, so please download this free care instruction printable to include with your acrylic items. They look really cute when you print them on card stock and include them with your packages. Care instruction printable
What are your biggest holiday orders this year? I’m selling a bunch of fingerless gloves, and TWD Lucille hats.
Happy Holidays everyone!!
This was the request. After talking for a moment, I realized that my client meant for a stuffed chicken toy, and not the actual barnyard chicken. Chicka Butta is a much loved toy owned by a 5 year old boy. Rocco has had CB since he was a baby, and this chicken needed some new clothes!!! It took me a while and a whole lotta froggin, but I am very pleased with the end result. I really do love what I do. This was such a fun project to design.

I’ve been seeing him everywhere online, and I wanted to make some to donate to Ellie’s Hats. All of the patterns I found were made with dc stitches. I like using hdc with my hats, so I wrote this one up. It’s pretty easy, and my testers did an amazing job on their hats, as you can see in the slide show.
You will need worsted weight yarn in white, orange gray and black, and the hook size depends on the hat size you want to make. I included a picture of the back of the hat, so you can see how I avoid the big seam, by alternating my begining inc stitches.
You can download a free copy of the pattern in my Ravelry shop. I do ask if you download it would you favorite it please? That helps bump it up in the search engine
If you make one, add if to your projects on Ravelry, and I’ll add your photos as featured photos. I would love to see your hats. 🙂
I am so unbelievably excited about my new wooden crochet hooks!!! I ordered them from Larry’s Handcarved Crochet Hooks and they are my new favorites. Each hook is a work of art, the craftsmanship is beyond compare. They are reasonably priced and the customer service is amazing. Marie and Larry are a joy to deal with. I highly recommend checking them out.
My hubs Mike does a lot of outdoor work in the winter, so I made him a warm hat out of some gorgeous wool a new friend Angel sent to me, and I made a candy cane hat also. The hooks feel so good in my hand, and I love that I can crochet for hours without my arthritis bothering me When I use a standard hook, I have to stop and rest quite often. . With these, I made 2 hats back to back without stopping and had NO pain. These are my new “go to” hooks.
I love supporting small businesses, and families, so I can happily say this will not be my last purchase from Larry’s.
